A Bible widget puts a passage within sight without asking you to open an app each time. It can be a quiet invitation to read. The installed app must offer a widget for your iOS version and the screen where you want to place it.
This guide explains the iPhone workflow. Scroll is not on the App Store yet; you can explore its planned presentation on the Bible widgets page.
Choose a place and a size
A larger Home Screen widget may have room for more of the verse and its reference. A Lock Screen widget has less space. Think of that smaller format as a reminder rather than a whole reading.
Check whether the Bible edition is identifiable. When a passage is cut off, choose a larger format or open the full text. A design should make the verse easier to read without obscuring where it comes from.
Add a Home Screen widget
With a compatible app already installed, enter Home Screen editing, open the widget gallery, choose the app and select a supported size. Place the widget where you will notice it and finish editing.
The exact controls are described in Apple’s widget instructions. Labels and options can change with iOS versions. For a Lock Screen widget, use that screen’s customization controls and select a compatible format supplied by the app.
If the widget is missing or looks unchanged
Open the app once and check for an update. Make sure you are searching the right gallery: a Home Screen widget does not necessarily have a Lock Screen counterpart. The available formats depend on the app and the location.
Refresh timing belongs partly to the operating system. An hourly selection should not be treated as a promise that the display changes at an exact minute. Review the app’s widget settings and allow time for a system refresh before assuming the feature has stopped working.
Let the verse lead to its context
When a line catches your attention, find its chapter. Read the surrounding verses and notice who is speaking. A short quotation can invite reflection, but it cannot carry every detail of the passage around it.
A widget and a Bible scrolling reader play different roles: one helps you begin, while the other gives you space to continue. Our Bible app checklist can help you evaluate both as part of the same reading routine.
